Following the Post-materialist tradition, one of the main focuses of my work is on how political institutions impact political attitudes. I am specifically interested in looking at how institutions induce political preferences and influence political culture.
I am particularly interested in the role of political attitudes on democratization and democratic backsliding. In my work, I deal primarily with regime preferences and attempt to disentangle when regime preferences are formed due to endogenous factors such as religion or exogenous factors like waves of migration.
In my work, I primarily utilize quantitative methods to analyze survey data specifically. So far, I employ multivariate regression and 2SLS, looking specifically at interactive effects. In my future work, I aim to employ network analysis to Cognitive Mapping theories to map regime preferences of demographic groups (particularly religious minorities).
